Dr. Watica reported four bids were received and recommended Suburban Remodeling Corporation as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a lump-sum base bid of $3,567,000. "Suburban Remodeling Corporation has been determined to be the lowest responsible and responsive bid for the project at a lumpsum base bid of $3,567,000," the presenter said. The project’s substantial-completion date is June 30, 2026.
During the public meeting the superintendent’s staff noted the bid was significantly under budget. The board moved and the clerk recorded roll-call approval for the memo; the transcript captures affirmative votes recorded from Jennifer Darby, Dominique Chatters, Steven Pronto and Lisa Hudgins.
Why it matters: the classroom renovation is intended to increase the number of CTE seats and related supporting components to serve a larger student population. The division described the award as a positive budget outcome because the low bid came in below the project budget.
