School board upholds superintendent recommendations and approves multiple personnel and disciplinary actions

The Chesterfield County School Board on Feb. 10 certified a closed session and approved a slate of personnel and student-discipline recommendations, passing each motion by roll call.
Madame Clerk read and the board adopted a resolution certifying that only matters lawfully exempted from open-meeting requirements were discussed in the closed session. The board then heard motions on student disciplinary cases and multiple personnel cases. For each case the superintendent’s recommendation was presented and the board recorded “I” votes from the members present.
Board members who recorded votes during the meeting include Anne Coker, Jennifer Darby, Dominique Chatters, Steven Pronto and Lisa Hudgins. The transcript records each of those members responding “I” during the roll calls on the certification resolution, the disciplinary case 2025-263, case 2025-26RE29, and a sequence of personnel cases identified by the superintendent’s case numbers. In each recorded roll call at those points the motion carried.
The board also approved the consent agenda — including approval of minutes for Jan. 6 and Jan. 22 business meetings, recommended personnel actions (Memo 005-26), acceptance of donations (Memo 006-26), recognition of Black History Month (Memo 007-26), plans for federally identified TSI schools (Memo 008-26), and appointments to the schoolboard advisory committee — by unanimous recorded vote.
The meeting included multiple non-controversial recognitions and reports; no board member called for removal of consent items for separate action.
The meeting adjourned at the conclusion of scheduled business. The board’s formal actions are recorded in the board minutes and the clerk’s roll-call entries; specific case identifiers and memo numbers were cited on the record.
Next steps: items requiring future board action — including adoption of the FY2027 financial plan and CIP — are scheduled for the Feb. 24 special meeting.
