Board members nominated Lisa Hudgins and Dominique Chatters for chair. After nominations closed, the clerk called the roll on the nomination of Lisa Hudgins; the board elected Hudgins to serve through the board's January 2027 organizational meeting. The transcript records Dominique Chatters voting "nay" on the Hudgins nomination while Anne Coker, Jenna Darby, Steven Pronto and Lisa Hudgins voted in the affirmative.
For vice chair, the board nominated Steven Pronto and, after nominations closed, the clerk called the role on his nomination. The board elected Pronto to serve as vice chair through January 2027.
After her election, Hudgins thanked her colleagues and said she was "honored and humbled by this opportunity to serve as chair," and pledged to lead with "integrity, humility and compassion" while keeping students at the center of the board's work.
The terms run until the board's January 2027 organizational meeting, when new leadership elections will be held.
