Board approves gifted-site adjustments tied to redistricting and new course offerings

Board members moved and seconded the motion and the clerk recorded unanimous ayes; the motion carried.
Dr. Pope then presented memo 159-25, a division review of programs of study that proposed new middle-school electives (including Ignite Math 6, Advanced Guitar 8, and Spanish for Fluent Speakers II), five new high-school course additions (expanding AP, IB and specialty center options, such as AP business/personal finance and AP cybersecurity), and six new CTE electives. Board members discussed the Spanish fluency offering as responsive to immersion students; the motion to approve memo 159-25 passed on a unanimous roll call.
