The Erie Planning Commission on May 6 recognized Commissioners Bayham and Burns for four years of service and presented certificates signed by the mayor and interim manager.
Staff noted the commissioners' contributions through the comp plan process and the number of cases handled over their terms. "It was a long haul working through the comp plan and all the various cases that you've seen over the last four years," a staff member said while presenting certificates. Commissioners and staff offered brief remarks thanking Bayham and Burns for their time and expertise.
Commissioners who spoke said they appreciated the outgoing members' service during a period of turnover and growth. Several commissioners suggested improving onboarding for new members, clarifying roles and responsibilities and allowing staff capacity to execute the commission's work. The recognition portion concluded with a ceremonial thank-you and no formal action beyond presentation of certificates.
