House Education chair updates committee on education-bill status, absenteeism and CTE timelines

The Chair also suggested the committee might take up the career and technical education (CTE) bill later in the week.
Members discussed scheduling for NEK pre-K and a probes meeting; one member said the probes hearing was rescheduled and, if reported out, the floor consideration could be Thursday or Friday. No formal votes occurred during the May 12 meeting; the comments were procedural and intended to update members on timing and next steps.
The Chair closed the business update by restating where items stood and reminding members to flag concerns about concurrence before the committee moves forward.
