Arapahoe County public health to use 'Primrose' and 'Blue Sage' for APZ conference rooms

Commissioner Jeff Baker opened the meeting and handed the floor to Jennifer, a representative of Arapahoe County Public Health, who outlined plans to move several public health teams into a new APZ facility and asked the board to approve names for two conference rooms.
"We would like in keeping with the wildflower theme, the team has chosen primrose and blue sage for the conference rooms," Jennifer said, adding that staff had checked to ensure there were no existing rooms with those names.
Jennifer said the department will relocate from Eaglewood to the APZ building where the former FFM operations were located, that the space will be on the east first floor with additional accommodations upstairs, and that roughly 30 public health staff — including harm reduction, immunization, WIC, maternal child health and informatics teams — will work at the site.
Commissioner Jeff Baker said he had no objection to the names and noted, lightheartedly, that "Primrose reminds me of the Hunger Games," and that the name also sounded familiar because of a hospital name. He confirmed the board had informal consensus: "So looks like you've got 4 thumbs up." Commissioner Assami was recorded as absent and excused.
The board did not record a formal roll-call vote on the room names during the meeting; staff will proceed with the APZ move and the wildflower-themed naming as presented.
