Committee member (S3) urged clarity about whether another motion was required given previous approvals, saying the council’s consent action might not have triggered implementation.
Committee members debated whether council acceptance of a committee recommendation equated to immediate action by the city. "The recommendation was approved. Was action implemented? No," Committee member (S4) said, arguing council acceptance does not always lead to immediate operational change.
The motion the committee presented directed staff to resubmit the compensation request to the full board and city council with an effective date of 07/01/2026 (noted in the meeting as the start of FY27). The committee voted by hand raise and agreed to present the item to the full board that afternoon for formal submission to council.
