Legislature confirms transportation appointments and temporary Ag Board representative; ARPA paving motion fails

Under other business the committee moved and approved the addition of members to the Transportation Advisory Council following staff recommendations. Separately, Legislator Sayegh said Legislator Montgomery would be unavailable for two months and asked to serve temporarily as the Legislative Representative on the Agriculture & Farmland Protection Board to ensure voting representation; Cassandra Roth (Ag Board member) said a substitute could attend but could not vote, so a temporary representative was requested. The committee pre-filed the appointment resolution.
Deputy Commissioner Bellucci reported the county awarded a contract for the Veterans Chapel roof renovation and will journalize the expense to the facility’s roof-repair line to allow subsequent interior work.
Chairman Gouldman later moved to waive the rules and accept other business to approve a Letter of Necessity to amend ARPA fund use for paving projects; the motion received no second and failed.
