Planning board approves site plan for 290‑room hotel at The Commons with staff conditions

The Planning Advisory Board on March 11 approved site plan petition 25SP1 for a 290‑room hotel proposed for Lot 2 of The Commons Professional Park at 870 Goodlet Frank Road, adopting staff‑recommended conditions including required traffic and pedestrian improvements.

Francesca Passadomo, attorney for the applicant, told the board the hotel is consistent with long‑standing entitlements for The Commons, a planned unit development and development‑of‑regional‑impact (DRI) with rights affirmed in prior court rulings. The project team described a two‑level parking structure with a six‑story hotel above, an internal courtyard, an elevated pool deck and on‑site amenities. “This is a site plan petition for a 290‑unit hotel with on‑site parking, landscaping, a linear park and pathway,” Passadomo said in opening remarks.
