Commissioner Barbara Barosa told the Physical Services Committee that two FY2027 Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) applications were submitted in March: one seeking funds for a countywide sheriff’s drone program and another for dam repair. She asked the Legislature to retroactively approve the applications; she said the applications will be withdrawn if the Legislature does not approve them.
Chairman Gouldman moved to pre-file the necessary resolution to ratify the applications; Legislator Regan seconded and the committee approved the pre-filing. Barosa said the submissions were made to meet March deadlines and she requested retroactive legislative authorization to proceed.
