Council concurs on IT contracts, event permits and Port of Montana MOU

At its Jan. 7 meeting the Butte-Silver Bow Council of Commissioners concurred and placed on file several consent-agenda items covering information-technology equipment and licensing, event permits and a Port of Montana memorandum of understanding.
Interim IT Manager Joshua Hettick requested authorization for Chief Executive Gallagher to sign an agreement with CompuNet to provide six new Catalyst 9200 switches and to renew Microsoft licensing for 2026; both items were concurred and placed on file. Public Works Grant Manager Angie Mullikin closed a public hearing on sole-sourcing Huber Materials for the Wastewater Treatment Plant with no proponents or opponents recorded.
Economic Development Coordinator Kayla Lappin requested authorization for an amendment to a development agreement for infrastructure and an amendment to an MOU with the Port of Montana to allow refurbishment of Port-owned tracks through June 30, 2027; both were concurred and placed on file. Event requests for SnowFlinga (Jan. 30–Feb. 1) and the 79th Annual Montana East-West Shrine Game parade (June 29) were also concurred and placed on file.
Staff also scheduled a Jan. 21 bid opening for Water Main Materials and noted a prior bid opening for chemicals used at treatment plants had been held. These items were handled on the consent agenda with motions to refer or place on file and recorded concurrence by the council.
