The Collegedale City Commission on April 20 approved Resolution 567, a memorandum of understanding between the Collegedale Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to govern joint operations when city officers work with the TBI task force.
The city’s police chief told the commission that the department already has standing MOUs with the FBI for its task-force officers, but that the TBI has created an additional task force this year and "sent over this MOU and just asked that we enter into this MOU with a TBI task force for an event if our officers are doing operations or investigations with them." The commission asked no substantive questions and approved the resolution by roll call.
The resolution directs staff to finalize the MOU; no changes to local policy or new authorities were proposed during the discussion.
