County staff said the first year will focus on a hazardous intersection where a trail crosses Highway 14 at Duck Creek Village; the county plans to deploy graders, an excavator and coordinate UDOT flaggers and equipment to improve grade and safety at that location. Subsequent years will divide mapped trails into fifths and address maintenance needs to allow seasonal blading and routine upkeep.
The agreement is non‑funded; staff emphasized scheduling flexibility if yearly resources or equipment are constrained. The commission moved to approve the agreement and the vote was unanimous.
County staff will coordinate annual plans and required paperwork with the Forest Service by the March 31 timeframe used for annual scheduling.
