She said she moved to the region in 2017 and operates a private refuge on her property for family stress management and activities.
Kahle emphasized addressing staffing and morale despite recent salary increases from a mill levy and said she would not pursue another levy. She told the council she supports a comprehensive audit of the sheriff's office budget to identify efficiencies and would cooperate with federal immigration authorities to remove convicted criminals, opposing the release of detainees.
Council members did not take an endorsement or formal vote at the meeting; Kahle's visit was an informational presentation during the council's regular agenda. The council's next meeting is scheduled for May 12, 2026.
