Parish crews clear roads after storms; officials plan repeat passes to collect debris

Kevin Borlaug, speaking for parish public works, updated the Avoyelles Parish Police Jury on storm cleanup operations and said crews cleared roads in impacted towns within a day of the storm.
"We got all of our roads cleared by that afternoon, Monday," Borlaug said, describing the deployment of two grab trucks and an excavator. He said teams worked first in Plocerville, then Evergreen, and coordinated with mayors in each town. Borlaug said public works would return in 5–7 days and likely make two to three passes through towns to collect material residents bring to the right of way.
Jurors were encouraged to direct residents to place debris at the roadside for collection; Borlaug noted the parish is stretched thin but committed to multiple follow‑up pickups. He also said the parish coordinated with DOT on state highway cleanup where applicable.
