David LeFeber elected chairman at Livingston County Board organizational meeting

David LeFeber was elected chairman of the Livingston County Board of Supervisors at the board dministration nnual organizational meeting on Jan. 5, 2026. The nomination by Supervisor Richard Deming of the Town of Avon, seconded by Supervisor DiSalvo, was closed by motion and carried by roll call, after which LeFeber was escorted to the chairman—hair.
LeFeber, introduced and sworn in as chairman, opened with New Year remarks and thanked his colleagues for their support. "It is a real honor to represent the Board of Supervisors and be so involved here in Livingston County. It is a great county that we have with a very bright and promising future," Chairman David LeFeber said, and he welcomed Supervisor Jonathan Cates of the Town of Lima as a new board member for 2026.
The board handled routine organizational items. Deborah Babbitt Henry of Springwater served as Temporary Chairman after a nomination from Mr. Wadsworth, and the board approved closing nominations and directing the Clerk of the Board to cast a single vote for Temporary Chairman. Chairman LeFeber asked Supervisor Daniel Pangrazio of Caledonia to continue as Vice Chairman for 2026; Pangrazio accepted.
Under "Other Business," the chairman said Michele would distribute the 2026 meeting schedule and noted Human Services and Public Services committee meetings are scheduled for the next day at 10:00 a.m. He also announced a Sunshine Fund collection and asked supervisors to contribute $20 each to provide support to colleagues who are ill or have experienced a loss.
A motion to adjourn, moved by Pangrazio and seconded by Mr. Wester, carried; the board adjourned at 1:46 p.m. and is scheduled to reconvene on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
