Delaware County signs MOU with Cherokee Nation to fund engineering for Bridge #30

Commissioner Jake Callihan moved for approval and the motion passed by roll call with Chairman David Poindexter and Commissioner David Beck joining him in support. Resident Rocky Carroll asked earlier in the meeting whether the MOU related to the county’s eight-year plan; Poindexter explained the Cherokee Nation is paying for the engineering work and said, "The MOU is the document that allows for that transaction."
The signed agreement covers engineering costs only; the minutes do not record additional financing or construction commitments beyond the stated engineering contribution. The board’s recorded action was limited to approving the memorandum and authorizing execution of the agreement.
