Delaware County commissioners approve claims, personnel change and open several bids

The board opened sealed bids for janitorial service (two bids received: David McCord at $3,850/month and Classic Cleaners at $3,500/month), for annual uniform service (one bid from Unifirst) and for cleaning and paper products (two bids). Michaele Baker of the County Clerk’s office will compile the price lists and email them to commissioners for later acceptance.
Human Resources Director Vicki Cossairt briefed commissioners on DOT Reasonable Suspicion Training scheduled for that afternoon, SB 196 (which she said will increase longevity pay to 15 percent, adding about $30,000 to county expenses) and HB 3127 (which she said will require the county to rewrite its drug and alcohol policy and to exclude medical-marijuana-card holders from safety-sensitive positions once the law takes effect Nov. 1, 2026). The board voted to use Cherokee Nation workforce interns for the summer; specific interns and supervisors were identified for district work.
After an executive session authorized under Title 25 O.S. §307.B.1 to discuss employment, the board returned and approved promoting courthouse custodian Stoney Kirby to maintenance and groundskeeper with a $400 monthly increase.
