Delaware County commissioners approve April claims, transfers and advertise annual bids

The Board of County Commissioners of Delaware County on April 14 approved routine claims and monthly reports, authorized bid advertisements for products, uniforms and janitorial services, and approved interfund and intrafund transfers; votes were unanimous.
The Delaware County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of routine financial and administrative items during its April 14, 2026 meeting in Jay.
By unanimous votes, the board approved minutes from earlier meetings, signed affidavits for April 15 payroll and approved payment of numerous claims across county funds. The claims list included a $180,500 line for an Oklahoma Department of Transportation bridge project and a $42,440.61 item listed to the Oklahoma State Department of Health; State Auditor & Inspector charges were listed at $12,738.93 and $8,321.43. Several large vendor items were included in the listing provided to commissioners.
Commissioner Jake Callihan moved and Commissioner David Beck seconded the motion to approve the claims; Chairman David Poindexter and both commissioners voted yes on the record.
The board also authorized advertising for sealed bids for annual county needs — products, uniform services and janitorial services — with bids to be received by May 1, 2026 and opened/reviewed May 5, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Michaele Baker in the County Clerk’s office was identified as the contact for submitting bids.
On finance items, the board approved an interfund transfer of $5,000 from Highway M&O to Highway Sales Tax for District 3 after Commissioner David Beck said he had purchased more material than anticipated. The board also approved an intrafund error-correction transfer of $2,764.63 from Jay Fire Department M&O to Jay Fire Department Lease/Purchase; both motions were made by Callihan, seconded by Beck and carried unanimously.
The board accepted an engagement letter with Turner & Associates to prepare the county’s 2025–2026 financial statements and 2026–2027 budget publication sheet required by state law, and approved a resolution and agreement with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for JP-38498(04), a modification to EW 330 (Stand Watie Road). Both votes were unanimous.
The meeting closed at 9:49 a.m. after the board voted to adjourn.
