Chloe Engleking, representing Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana, attended the meeting and was available to answer questions. During the public comment period, Paul Hoffman of 2214 Chandler Lane expressed support for the project and praised church and housing committee involvement in the effort.
Councilor Elaine Hilber moved to pass the second reading and adopt the ordinance; Councilor Grace Kestler seconded. The roll call vote was eight in favor, zero opposed, and the ordinance was adopted.
The rezoning allows the developer to proceed under RMc commitments; specific development details, financing sources and construction schedule were not specified in the council record. The council did not place any additional conditions on the ordinance on second reading. The Plan Commission record and the applicant will determine next procedural steps for site plan review and permitting.
