The Greensburg Community Schools board approved a list of appointments for the next school year, accepted resignations and retirements and recognized long‑serving employees and students at Monday's meeting.
Staff presented recommended appointments including Lisa Wilson (elementary lead position), Tom Bachover and April Huey (junior high custodial positions), new teachers and several maintenance summer painters, and asked the board to approve the list; the board moved, seconded and approved the appointments.
The board also accepted resignations and retirements: DJ Kors (high school custodial), Ally Andrews (junior high English, resigning to relocate), Dakota Peterson (high school band director), Lori Hefner (elementary Title I interventionist), and others. Staff publicly thanked departing employees and retirees and noted years of service for multiple people.
Earlier in the meeting Chair presented Tom Hunter with a 45‑year service pin and board members and staff offered thanks. Staff additionally recognized district and school achievements, including Greensburg Community Schools and Greensburg Elementary being named distinguished by Project Lead the Way and student teams placing high in state competitions.
The personnel actions were approved by voice vote; no individual dissent was recorded in the meeting transcript.
