Councilwoman Brenda Wilson denies allegations, says campaign attacks intensified after husband’s death

Wilson addressed rumors about her late husband's will and a family partnership dispute, saying his will was authored and signed in 2024 and "I did not create it, force it, or manipulate it." She said the will was reviewed, challenged through legal channels and "was never proven to be anything other than legal."
She also said a 2023 police report pertaining to her late husband has been circulating publicly despite being marked "not for public release." "My attorneys are going to be addressing that issue appropriately," Wilson said, adding that law enforcement did not investigate because, she said, "there was not 1 bit of credible evidence to support the claims."
Wilson criticized campaign materials and ads she called "despicable," saying they were produced by independent groups outside her campaign. "My opponent ran a very dirty campaign attacking me personally," she said, and called certain campaign videos and tactics "desperate and disgusting." She urged listeners not to assume those items came from her campaign.
She closed by reiterating her service record and qualifications for office and saying she would not be silenced by personal attacks: "I will not be bullied into silence. I will not be shamed for surviving." The council moved on to the next agenda item after her remarks.
The council did not take formal action related to Wilson's statement during the meeting; she delivered it under communications from elected officials.
