The meeting heard a maintenance update reporting progress on utility coordination and planned infrastructure work.
Eric, the maintenance staff, told members the retaining wall project remains delayed because the project architect is currently in France and drawings are pending. He said he has “finally got ahold of Nicor” and that Nicor will identify the depth of an underground line and determine the path forward; someone from Nicor should be on site soon, he said.
Eric also outlined plans to move a fiber line into the building’s south entrance, describing coordination with IT and Resideo to route the line out of primary pathways. He said the department will specify retaining-wall blocks and involve members in selecting block styles. Routine preventive-maintenance work is ongoing across facilities, and he said a planned VA remodel is expected to start June 1, contingent on scheduling. Eric additionally noted an old fence at the tower was removed because of age and that work on the new courts and first-floor areas is largely wrapped up.
The chair asked for questions; none were raised and there was no further discussion. The maintenance report concluded with no formal action taken.
The department (maintenance staff) will proceed with utility locating with Nicor and continue planning for fiber relocation and retaining-wall specifications. The VA remodel date is tentative and dependent on construction scheduling.
