Wichita County proclaims May 2026 National Bike Month, local organizers urge safety and participation

"I am the Bike Friendly Wichita Falls coordinator," Sisk said, and listed events that showcase cycling in the area, including the Hotter'N Hell Hundred and university team races. She encouraged residents to get involved with local bike programs and outreach.
The presiding judge praised local organizers and emphasized cycling’s public-health benefits, saying the community’s events ‘‘help prevent tragedies and ensure that all residents can travel our streets without fear of injury or loss of life.’’ Organizers announced a short remembrance ride at Hamilton Park at 6 p.m. on May 31 to honor bicyclists who died while riding and to raise awareness of road safety.
