Jane Anderson, the sole applicant to represent Minnetrista on the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District board, was interviewed at the Minnetrista City work session on Dec. 8, 2025.
Anderson told council she lives at 560 Edgewater Drive in Mound and is building a house in Minnetrista. She said she co-founded Harrison's Bay Association and described her priority as protecting Lake Minnetonka—s natural resources. "It is a conservation district primarily," Anderson said, adding that the LMCD has had governmental authority over Lake Minnetonka—s surface waters since 1967 and can regulate items such as docks and lake speed limits.
Council members asked about the time commitment and attendance expectations. Anderson said the LMCD typically meets twice a month with additional committee meetings and that she understood the workload. She noted a schedule conflict with the second Wednesday in January but said she can accommodate the position and provide the requested annual or issue-driven updates to the council.
Councilmembers signaled support for Anderson—s candidacy during the work session. The council chair said the formal appointment will not be made at this work session but will be completed at the next regular council meeting; staff will follow up to confirm the appointment and related paperwork.
The council made no formal vote on the appointment during the Dec. 8 work session; the decision will be finalized at the regular meeting that follows.
