City engineer Chris Kudson updated the New Prague City Council on capital projects and utility work, reporting that the 2024 street program is nearing closeout and the 2025 paving program needs one more paving day before entering wrap‑up.
Lead service‑line funding: Kudson said the Public Facilities Authority (PFA) has the information it needs and that the city's lead service‑line replacement project should move ahead from the funding side. He advised the council that assessment work for the 2025 street project will be conducted over upcoming meetings, with the assessment hearing expected to be called at the next meeting and held at the second meeting in October.
Other project notes: Kudson said the current street project is approximately six weeks ahead of schedule and that some privately requested engineering reviews have become more time intensive. He previewed a developer‑services proposal (see separate action) to provide engineering services for developer project reviews and construction observation.
Council response: Council members thanked staff for completing work ahead of the annual Dozinki (community event) and asked a few clarifying questions about contractor drawings and timing for assessment hearings.
