Aaron Han, junior engineer, presented the application and noted Seaside Municipal Code restricts single‑family parcels to one driveway unless specific frontage and separation thresholds are met. Han said the parcel has about 200 feet of frontage but the proposed driveway would be approximately 112 feet from the nearest intersection, short of the 150‑foot separation listed in the code; staff nonetheless deferred to the TAC for a discretionary recommendation.
Applicant Dan Oor said the ADU is "just about to final" construction and that private on‑site parking would reduce street clutter and improve access for first responders. "With the fewer vehicles on the street, there'd be less clutter, better visibility, and there'd be parking available for the church events," Oor said.
A committee member moved to approve the driveway approach; the motion carried by voice vote. Committee members noted the council will need to review and authorize the curb cut and any resulting removal of one or two on‑street parking spaces. Staff said the action would return to City Council and advised the applicant to attend that meeting.
