Kasson park board plans Arbor Day plantings and reviews boulevard tree program

Staff flagged that a major southwest street reconstruction project could increase demand on next year’s tree budget and may require shifting funds toward replacements.
Separately, staff noted Wilker attends tree auctions twice a year to source B&B (balled-and-burlapped) trees that are sometimes larger-caliper specimens used to replace removals, pending budget approval. The board signaled support for diverse species plantings to reduce risk from species-specific pests or failures.
