"I received a lot of calls today regarding the condition of the pickleball courts," Derek said, requesting that staff add the topic for discussion. Staff responded that Parks and Recreation has been working for approximately a year with local organizations to identify funding and options.
Staff described a plan to add three new pickleball courts at a different city location where a concrete pad already exists; according to staff, surfacing those courts would require costs similar to building new courts rather than solely refurbishing the old surface. Council members asked that staff bring information back at the next meeting so the council could consider how the request fits into the 2026 budget.
The council agreed to place the item on a future agenda for discussion; staff will return with updated cost estimates and a proposed timeline.
