Pleasant Valley school leaders to switch online payment fee to 3.51% for credit cards starting July 1

Why it matters: For families who pay large recurring fees (for example, a $400 monthly preschool fee), the flat $2.85 charge is a larger share of the payment than a percentage rate would be. Administration said internal analysis showed the district can lose roughly $12
$14 per student per month in some scenarios under the flat fee on high-value transactions.
Board discussion: Members asked whether ACH or debit options would remain available and how the district would communicate changes to families. Staff said checks may still be brought to building offices, recurring ACH drafts can be set up in Infinite Campus, and the district can notify families via e-news and direct Infinite Campus messages. One member suggested listing payment options and their costs on the payment page so families can choose debit or ACH if they prefer.
