Library Director Nate Depra reported to the council that the Stewartville library’s circulation rose about 21% over the summer and said he will provide a longer recap at the September council meeting.
Depra said the majority of checkouts remain with Stewartville residents but that the library also circulates materials to Rochester patrons and others. Councilors asked whether the circulation numbers are tracked by patron residence and discussed asking county commissioners for additional funding; no formal funding request was made at the meeting.
Depra said he was ‘crazy busy’ over the summer and wants to analyze circulation sources further before providing a full report.
