Board appoints Molly Hintlian to Community Advisory Committee seat for Encinitas

The San Diego Community Power Board of Directors on April 23 unanimously approved the appointment of Molly Hintlian to a City of Encinitas seat on the agency’s Community Advisory Committee. Director Stephen San Antonio introduced the nomination and staff described a public recruitment process that started in June 2025 to fill the vacancy left when the previous member’s term ended.
Xiomalys Crespo, Senior Committee Engagement Manager, told the board the vacancy was posted through Community Power channels and local outreach and that, if approved, staff would administer an oath and onboard the new member before the June 11 Community Advisory Committee meeting. "If approved by the Board with a simple majority vote, staff will work with the representative to conduct their oath of office and onboarding prior to the next CAC meeting on June 11, 2026," Crespo said.
Molly Hintlian introduced herself to the board and described more than a decade living in Encinitas and experience in corporate marketing and local commissions. "I am passionate about energy efficiency, smartphone technology and environmental stewardship. I'm eager to bring a community perspective to help strengthen our program," Hintlian said.
The appointment passed on a unanimous roll‑call vote with Directors Elo‑Rivera, Fisher, Inzunza, San Antonio, Suzuki and Vice Chair Yamane voting in favor. The appointment fills the Encinitas vacancy on the CAC and does not change the committee’s membership terms; members serve up to two‑ or three‑year terms per staff guidance. The board’s approval was procedural; there was no public comment on the item and staff will return with onboarding steps as described.
