The Pacific Grove Unified School District Board of Education on May 6 held an employee-of-the-year recognition honoring classified, certificated and managerial staff from each site.
Dr. Adamson said the program began in January and drew about 87 nominations from staff across the district. Winners included Christine Gruber (Forest Grove classified), Heather Zenuzi (Robert Down certificated), Melissa Gibson (middle school classified), Chris Abdesion (middle school certificated), "Ken" (high school classified, college and career center), Laura Lee (high school certificated), and Jeff Stzman (district office classified). Several honorees were not present and were recognized with photos.
After the recognitions, the board returned to closed session to finish personnel matters and later reported out that it had unanimously approved resignation agreements with employee numbers 162114 and 162115.
On the consent calendar the board approved one routine item — out-of-county overnight activities — following a motion by Trustee Otmar and a second by Trustee Hazen; the motion carried unanimously.
Dr. Adamson invited the recognized staff and their families to a reception following the meeting. Trustees praised the breadth of nominations and the staff-driven selection process.
