Dr. Adamson told trustees the vote formalizes previous direction given at an earlier meeting to proceed with a community survey. Assistant Superintendent Jordan noted the estimated cost for the contract would not exceed $35,000. "The estimated cost is not to exceed $35,000 for the community survey," Jordan said.
There were no public comments on the item during the meeting. President McNary moved to engage the firm and Clerk Shamas seconded; the motion carried with all five trustees voting in favor.
Board members emphasized that authorizing the survey is a step in due diligence as the district evaluates ways to increase revenue. Trustees noted the decision to spend district funds on public outreach was not taken lightly and framed the survey as an information-gathering exercise ahead of any decision about placing a measure on the ballot.
Next steps: Dale Scott & Company will begin the survey work and report back to staff and the board with findings and recommendations.
