EDA staff reports: DEX lease, parks planning, events and Graco’s planned world headquarters in Dayton

Lease and site tours: Staff said DEX (parent company MAS HVAC) signed a lease for roughly 500,000 square feet of the Q’s building for assembly of cooling systems for data centers and invited EDA members to a tour scheduled for Friday at 9:30 a.m. The staff update noted the building is now effectively full and that DEX requested a tour of its facility.
Parks and community programs: Staff summarized draft master‑plan concepts for LC Stevens Park with a concept review expected in September, discussed the adopt‑a‑park program (signage, monthly cleanups), and noted the success of the weekly car show (roughly 198–199 attendees) and a giving garden. Dayton Heritage Day was announced for Sept. 20.
Graco headquarters: Staff announced that Graco will locate its world headquarters in Dayton starting in 2027, describing plans for a new roughly 100,000‑square‑foot building and estimating about 152 initial jobs with growth to about 300 jobs over time; staff and members discussed coordinating publicity and a ribbon‑cutting event.
Other items: Staff reminded members of an Oct. 8 ribbon cutting for a new Quick Trip location and noted that tours of recently approved townhomes may be scheduled.
What happens next: staff said it will circulate tour invitations and formal notices for ribbon cuttings and follow up on planning timelines and public‑meeting scheduling for parks and lease facilitation.
