Meetings tend to be shorter, discussions more focused, and decisions reached faster,” the chair said, adding that smaller committees can also develop “better working dynamics and trust.”
The chair urged supervisors to prepare for committee and board meetings by reviewing materials and arriving with questions, saying good preparation helps meetings run smoothly. The chair also said the committee roster was developed after contacting supervisors and attempting to create cohesive groups.
The chair announced two specific assignments, welcoming Jessica Camacho to Human Services, Youth and Governance and Dylan Hood to Judiciary and Law. The chair also noted that Supervisors Grady, Decker and Morrissey were excused from the meeting and that Supervisor Carol was present; the roll call indicated 19 supervisors in attendance.
The chair closed remarks by announcing a chairman’s reception scheduled for after next week’s board meeting for Cinco de Mayo at the Italian‑American Club and asked supervisors to confirm attendance so a head count can be provided.
