Bradley Clark, community development staff, described the proposal: five Tuesday evenings (June 16 and 23; June 30; July 7 and 14), family‑focused events scheduled 6:30–8:30 p.m., vendor booths and food sales, and an estimated peak attendance of up to 2,000 people.
Clark said the events meet municipal code thresholds for a commercial activity permit (expected crowd sizes and vendor presence); the packet listed typical fees and deposits that total just over $3,000. The Chamber requested a full waiver of fees and deposits; staff noted the Chamber typically provides insurance and uses certified alcohol servers for events with alcohol.
Councilors spoke in favor, noting the event’s long history (36+ years) and community benefits. Councilor Seth made the motion to approve the resolution and Councilor Victoria seconded; the vote was unanimous.
The waiver covers reservation fees and required permits and deposits for the five listed dates. Staff will coordinate with the Chamber on site plans and vendor management to minimize park impacts and ensure required insurance and certified servers are in place.
