Separately, commissioners approved an amendment to the owner's‑representative contract, increasing the project's available coordination services by up to $45,600 to cover move‑in needs and occupancy transition work. A commissioner said the owners' representative had attended a meeting earlier that day and explained necessary work, and the board seconded and approved the amendment.
The board also ratified several purchases and service agreements tied to the Security Center project: a package of 27 televisions and wall mounts (Amazon), a safety restraint package to match existing jail equipment, a TK84 service agreement to move the existing body scanner to the new facility (approximately $8,000), and an add‑on Amazon order for commercial coffee brewers and shredders ($5,920.98). Those items were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Several commissioners voiced that the additional coordination and equipment moves were necessary steps to prepare the new facility for occupancy. The board recorded approvals by voice; no member objected.
The meeting packet and staff said the contracts and purchases will be accounted for in the project's budget and included as part of the Security Center draw and final closeout process. The board did not indicate any changes to the project's total approved budget during the meeting.
The commissioners adjourned after approving the day's remaining business; next steps for the Security Center include continued contract oversight and scheduled coordination for the move into the new facility.
