Council approves contracts, parks projects, resolutions and special events in routine vote

The City of New Baltimore council approved a series of routine items by unanimous vote at its April 13 meeting, including procurement contracts, park and recreation purchases, wastewater repair payments, and two council resolutions.

Key approvals included: payment to Project Control Engineering for March engineering services ($31,711.90); legal services to Tomlinson & McGrail, PLLC ($8,722.00); purchase of a 2026 Dodge Ram pickup for the Fire Department from Jim Riehl’s Friendly Chrysler Dodge ($55,400.00); a payment to Teltow Contracting for WWTP oxidation ditch inlet valve replacement ($67,034.00, payment #2); and a playscape purchase from Sinclair Recreation ($22,921.30) to be paid from the park improvement fund. The council also approved the purchase of baseball uniforms for Parks & Recreation ($6,981.00) and added a Motorola Solutions item ($24,048.00) to the consent agenda prior to approval.

The council adopted Resolution No. 1008 setting massage licensure fees at $350 and approved Resolution No. 1007 supporting an application to the Detroit Institute of Arts Partners in Public Art program. Council also approved a professional-services engagement with Cunningham-Limp for preconstruction and construction management services for the new City Hall building and received earlier oral presentations on that project.

All recorded votes on these consent and routine items were unanimous among the councilmembers present (6–0). The transcript records motions and seconders for each action but does not show substantial debate on these items.
