City manager notifies council of emergency camera replacements; Doral introduces new planning director

"An urgent upgrade and replacement of these units is going to be necessary to mitigate this unanticipated end‑of‑life support systems," the city manager said, noting police and IT staff had identified a solution and would begin replacement work immediately.
The manager also introduced Alex McGristell as the city’s new Planning & Zoning Director. McGristell summarized his background in land‑use, zoning and municipal real‑estate law and said he is "very excited" to serve the city and to work on long‑range planning efforts.
Council members did not place restrictions on the emergency procurement during the morning session; the manager said formal ratification will be requested in April.
