Isanti councilmember outlines LMC priorities: saving for local matches, CIP requirement and paid-leave local control

They also proposed requiring every city to maintain a Capital Improvement Plan to improve long-term fiscal planning.
On housing policy, the councilmember said LMC is discussing group-home density and that the city has heard local concerns. On workforce policy, they described long LMC discussion about state paid-leave proposals and said they will draft an amendment to preserve local control, allowing municipalities to choose whether to participate.
Councilmembers agreed to consider holding periodic LMC-focused work sessions to review policy proposals and coordinate the city’s representative input to the League.
