Council members discussed sponsorship bounds and the risk of long-term naming or multi-year commitments; staff said the RFP contemplates temporary event signage (e.g., a week of event banners) rather than permanent naming rights.
The council approved issuing the RFP; one councilor abstained because of a board conflict of interest. Staff plans to issue the RFP immediately, solicit proposals, and return to council by early June with any submissions and a recommended contract for 2027 programming.
