The New Prague City Council voted unanimously on March 16 to adopt Ordinance 358, vacating a drainage and utility easement in the plat for the New Prague Business Park 11th Edition so the buyer can combine two lots and construct a single 50,000‑square‑foot building for multiple tenants.
Ken, a city staff presenter, told the council the ordinance follows a purchase and development agreement the council approved on Feb. 17 for the sale of the last two industrial park lots to Aventis Investments LLC. "This will facilitate their combining of the two properties and the construction of a single 50,000 square foot building for multiple tenants in the industrial park," Ken said during the public hearing introduction.
Staff said notice was sent to adjacent property owners and utility companies and no comments had been received as of the meeting memo. The mayor opened and closed the public hearing with no speakers signed up. The council then approved the ordinance on its second reading; staff said the ordinance will take effect upon publication, which the city expects in the New Prague Times next week.
The decision clears an easement that staff said was between lots four and five, block two, New Prague Industrial Park 11th Edition, and is intended to permit the developer to consolidate lots and move forward with construction. The council approved the motion by voice vote, 5‑0.
The city will publish the ordinance summary and make the full code and ordinance available on the city website and at City Hall for public inspection.
