After recusal and revote, Montgomery Township designates North Wales Area Library as official township library

Solicitor Kenny recommended revoting and following an abundance of caution the chair recused herself from the second vote. The board then revoted; the clerk recorded four votes in favor and one abstention.
Board members discussed that the designation does not obligate Montgomery Township to increase annual donations beyond current levels but could make the library eligible for additional state support. They also noted that a separate resolution could provide for a township representative to serve on the library board in future years.
The motion to adopt the resolution passed on the revote with four in favor and one abstention. The board did not take public comment during the revote.
