The Atoka Town Council on Jan. 13 approved financing to acquire new fire apparatus (exhibit B). During discussion staff said the town financed the pre‑purchase to receive a discount and that the first payment on the note is not due until the FY27 budget; staff also confirmed FY26 already includes allocations tied to the purchase.
Alderman Schaefer moved to approve the resolution and Alderman Pool seconded. With no further discussion the council approved the resolution on a voice vote.
What’s next: Staff will forward the approved resolution to the comptroller for final processing and include the note payment in the FY27 budget planning process.
