Main Street representative: ODOT field review next week; streetscape groundbreaking possible in six months

Nichols said the Oklahoma Department of Transportation will hold a virtual final field review next Monday for the streetscape project; if the review is approved, she estimated breaking ground could occur about six months later. She reported that a request for proposals for marketing and branding was published in the Tulsa World on the 8th, with proposals due on the 19th and being routed to Darla for opening. Nichols also said work on building facades is underway in some locations and that the MOU renewal and discussions about a new funding structure with Oklahoma Main Street are ongoing.
Nichols asked trustees for contractor suggestions for demolition within the project budget and noted Scissor Tail (the construction project manager) was accepting bids. She said a packet would have been ready for trustees today under normal circumstances but that outstanding issues remain. Trustees acknowledged the update and thanked Nichols for the report.
Next steps: Nichols and staff will continue coordination with ODOT and Oklahoma Main Street, gather RFP responses for marketing/branding, and pursue potential local contractors for the Grand Community Building demo work.
