Commissioners approve a package of administrative items including travel funding, expo contracts, tax‑sale location and accounts payable

At its April 28 session the Washington County Commissioner's Court approved several administrative items by voice vote.
• Travel expenses for in-person interviews: The court approved using emergency management seminars dues and mileage account (GL code 010-23000-54350) to cover travel and airfare for finalists invited to in-person interviews for the fire services director position; the item was presented by Emma Scalum and carried by voice vote.
• Expo rental contracts: The court approved Washington County Expo rental regulation contracts for an upcoming cattle sale and authorized the county judge to sign the contracts.
• Tax resale location: Commissioners reaffirmed the courthouse steps as the official location for public tax resales and authorized an alternate site at the Washington County Courthouse Annex, 100 South Park Street, Brenham, Texas, to be used when weather or other conditions require it.
• Accounts payable: The court approved accounts payable totaling $317,351.29 after a brief presentation by Mr. Kramer.
All four measures were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the meeting adjourned shortly after the approvals.
