The Poudre School District Board unanimously approved the district’s recommended K‑12 and newcomer English language development (ELD) curriculum on April 28. Dr. Olson emphasized culturally responsive materials and explicit instruction across listening, speaking, reading and writing domains. The staff report said funds are available in the district’s regular curriculum and instruction general funds. One board member noted contractual provisions that safeguard confidential student information and that choice of law and venue specify Colorado and Larimer County.
The board approved the vendor contract and purchase (transcript shows the amount as $362,208.83). Staff said the proposal includes seven‑year software licensing and a one‑year print materials purchase so the district can adjust quantities annually based on multilingual learner enrollment.
