Saint Star Award honors Saint Francis HS senior Jack Humphrey

The St. Francis Area Schools board presented the Saint Star Award May 11 to Saint Francis High School senior Jack Humphrey for academic and extracurricular achievement.
The chair introduced Humphrey and noted his leadership roles — treasurer and senior class president — and his achievements in DECA and speech and debate, including state and national recognition. The nomination cited Saint Francis Middle School principal Heidi Critchley, who was quoted in the introduction praising Humphrey’s leadership and character.
Humphrey accepted the award and thanked teachers, coaches and administrators by name for mentoring him through debate, speech and extracurricular activities; he also said he plans to continue his education at Michigan State University. "I truly thank every single one of you at ISD 15," he said.
The board applauded, and the chair extended best wishes on behalf of the board and district.
